The advanced in Advanced Coma-Free.A traditional Ritchey-Chrtien (RC) is a type of reflector that delivers a coma-free flat field of view via hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors. RC telescopes (from a variety of manufacturers) are found in most of the world's top observatories and NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Because the mirrors in these telescopes have always been very expensive to make few amateur astronomers could enjoy them. Fortunately Meade engineers developed a radical new Advanced Coma Free design by combining a hyperbolic secondary mirror with a corrector-lens-and-spherical-primary-mirror combination that performs as one hyperbolic element. This ACF design produces a coma-free flat field of view that rivals traditional RC telescopes at a fraction of the cost. The design even eliminates diffraction spikes and improves astigmatism both of which are inherent in the traditional ACF design. The new Baader Solar Continuum filter is designed to enhance the visibility of solar granulation and sunspot details. By transmitting a specific spectral region around 540nm free of emission and absorption lines the Solar Continuum filter is able to boost contrast and reduce the effects of atmospheric turbulence. With the Solar Continuum filter in place images snap to focus and granulation becomes regularly visible. Details at the limit of visibility become easier to hold and image motion is reduced.  The Solar Continuum filter works well in all types of telescopes for both visual and imaging. Users of SCTs and achromatic refractors will find it particularly beneficial as it completely excludes the red and blue wavelengths and centers on the peak visual wavelengths where the telescope optics are sharpest and free from chromatic aberrations. For digital imaging we also recommend the Continuum filter be combined with our UV/IR Cut Filter (to completely cut the defocused far infrared wavelengths).  The Solar Continuum filter also makes the perfect star test filter. Its narrow bandpass and complete blockage of longer and shorter wavelengths make it superior to standard green colored filters for testing refractors at their center design wavelength (and peak visual wavelength). With this filter more accurate appraisals of optical quality can be made without the effects of spherochromatism or secondary color error. Due to the narrow 10nm bandpass star testing through the Solar Continuum filter will require a bright test star.  As with all Baader Planetarium Filters the Solar Continuum possesses all the trademark Baader filter qualities. Optical physical and mechanical quality are superb.  Please Note: for safe use the Solar Continuum filter must be used in conjunction with a primary solar filter (ie Herschel Wedge Prism or Baader AstroSolar Film). It must be placed after the primary filter and cannot be used alone or permanent eye and equipment damage will result. - telescopes and lenses

Celestron's deluxe tele-extender is a high-power photographic accessory for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. It's a hollow tube that allows you to attach a camera to your telescope with an eyepiece installed. By using the Deluxe Tele-Extender in combination with an eyepiece you can increase your telescope's effective focal length to well over 10000mm! And with this comes a corresponding increase in image size.  It's a technique known as eyepiece projection photography and it multiplies magnification by the distance from eyepiece center to the film plane according to the following formula: Effective Focal Length = Telescope focal length ? Eyepiece focal length X DF (distance to film).  The deluxe tele-extender is used for high-power lunar solar and planetary photography as well as for extreme terrestrial photography. To employ the tele-extender remove the diagonal from your telescope and insert an eyepiece directly into the visual back. Place the Tele-Extender over both the eyepiece and the visual back and attach your 35mm SLR camera to the back of the tele-extender using a T-ring. That puts you in business for fine highly magnified astrophotography!  Note: The image you'll see through your camera's viewfinder will be upside-down. And because of the extremely high magnifying effect afforded by the deluxe tele-extended you'll want to take extra care to prevent camera and telescope vibration. Accurate polar alignment and using only under good seeing conditions will also help you capture high-quality images.
